Each ambience in Diffuse City 2 is recorded with a “natural filter” in mind, such as distance, elevation, time of day, or physical material. This gives you the flexibility to create the perfect urban atmosphere for your project, without the jarring specifics of many other urban ambience libraries.
Diffuse City 2 covers a wide range of environments, from big cities to suburbs… small towns to rural areas. It was recorded over very late and cold nights to minimize nearby distractions, and includes a wide variety of locations/subjects.
No matter how late or cold the night, occasionally cars pass by… alarms go off… trains roar by…. These interruptions are edited out of the ambience recordings, but included as “extras” in the library. Perfect for adding some flavor to a moment that’s authentic to the environment it was recorded in.

Embedded Markers
In addition to thorough metadata, this library includes embedded markers highlighting unique moments and sounds that aren’t easily visible in a waveform. Software like Soundminer, iZotope RX, and Reaper can display these markers, making it easy to identify distinct sonic moments. Learn more about software support for markers.

Thorough UCS Metadata
This library has thorough UCS compliant metadata that works across all popular audio database software. Each file is embedded with exhaustive information about the recording.
Aside from the usual ‘description’, many other fields are available that provide useful tidbits like recording notes, microphone information, category, and sub-category. All sound effects also come embedded with an image showing exactly what was being recorded.
