Mangled Marxophone is a collection of wildly eerie, broken, and detuned stringed instrument sound effects. A Marxophone is a fretless zither instrument played with metal hammers. This library covers a particularly rare variety of Marxophone called a “Mandolin Guitarophone” from the early 1900’s.
Rescued from the deep crypts of a small town antique shop, it’s sprung to life again in all it’s broken glory for your sound design pleasure. The eerie ringing tones and rattly strings are captured at 192kHz with plenty of ultrasonic content for extreme pitch bending.
Mangled Marxophone is a free(ish) library. What does that mean?
Every year (around December 25th), Collected Transients releases a free sound effects library. The catch? It’s only available for free to the public for a very limited time. After that, there are two ways to grab them:
- Purchase any regular (not free-ish) Collected Transients library. Following purchase, you’ll be sent a unique coupon code to get all the free(ish) libraries at no additional cost!
- Pay a small fee. After the free period, each library is available to the public for a small fee.
